KTX2-S CAT1 Transponder 250W

The KTX2 mode-S transponder is like all Dittel-Avionik devices highly efficient. During the development the following parameters have been taken into account:

    •    low weight of only 360 g
    •    minimal power consumption
    •    low cost

These parameters are a strong argument especially for gliders, ultralight aircraft and balloons, to be equipped with the KTX2. The power consumption of a Mode-S transponder is a value which generally depends on a number of different parameters. Mode-S operation in busy airspace can cause a high rate of queries per minute. In this case, the transponder will respond accordingly and frequently increasing the total energy consumption.

Simplified set up procedure.

The installation of the KTX2 is quite simple. The panel cutout corresponds to the 57 mm standard. The body length of 144 mm only leaves plenty of room for better handling in full panels and greatly simplifies the installation.

The installation of an altitude encoder is obsolete, of course. The KTX2 already has an integrated high-precision pressure sensor. Just connect the hose from your static port, stick your antenna and power supply, that’s it.

'Extended squitter' or ADS-B Out

The KTX2 Mode-S transponder is prepared for ADS-B. The data interface allows the coming opportunity for the output of position data (extended squitter) for ADS-B Out in combination with an appropriate GPS receiver.
The KTX2 also provides an additional ADS-B antenna connection for use with an ADS-B receiver (ADS-B In), which makes an additional antenna normally required for ADS-B In obsolete.

In conjunction with an appropriate so called 'Traffic Monitor' you then can have a professional collision warning system.
